Two art exhibits, both featuring printmaking, will open Monday, Nov. 6, in the two galleries at UW-Stout’s Furlong Gallery.
The exhibits, “Works on Paper” and “Time in Between,” will run through Saturday, Dec. 16. An opening reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9.
“Works on Paper,” in the north gallery, will feature art from the Furlong Gallery permanent collection, including drawing, printmaking and mixed media artworks. Many of the pieces have never been exhibited in Furlong.
Some of the artists included are Larry Rivers, Lee Krasner, William Bailey, Adolph Gottlieb, Victor Vasarely, Beverly Pepper, Terry Frost, Elisabeth Frink, Patrick Caufield, Francesco Clemente and Peter Busa.
The “Time In Between” exhibit, in the south gallery, is a recently donated print exchange organized by alumnus Tyler Helfrich, a 2016 studio art graduate. The exhibit will include 27 artists from North America and feature a variety of printmaking approaches, including etching, relief, serigraphy, lithography and mezzotint.
