For people who love to play video and tabletop games, UW-Stout’s Game Expo — SGX — offers an experience that goes beyond the thrill of playing.
The biannual expo, from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, in the Great Hall of the Memorial Student Center, also is an opportunity to talk with the games’ creators. Students from the university’s two game design and development programs will be on hand to explain their games and answer questions.
More than 30 games will be unveiled to the public and available to play for the first time. They include a virtual reality game, games for computers and mobile devices, board games, an arcade game and family-friendly games.
UW-Stout’s game design programs, in computer science and art, were ranked 15th in the nation in March by Princeton Review. Two games created by students in recent years have won national awards.
