Maggie Rouman earned her master’s degree in educational neuroscience, as well as a Certificate in Applied Leadership and Adult Learning through DePaul University. She completed her E-Learning and Online Teaching Graduate Certificate through the University of Wisconsin Stout. She also is trained in ISO processes and positive psychology practices for managing teams; and the four major characteristics of emotional intelligence, earning her Certificate in Process Designed Emotional Intelligence Training (PdEI) from the Liautaud Institute.
   
She has taught students of all ages, from Kindergarten through high school to adults. She has mentored new teachers and served as an advocate for students with learning differences in the Chicago Public Schools. She has mentored undergraduate students at Loyola University and served as a guest lecturer at DePaul University. She is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and the Founder of the Chicago Area Brain Network.
   
Her past experience in designing and facilitating professional development programs in face-to-face, blended and online settings focused on the implementation of digital learning games, Universal Design for Learning, and instructional technologies.
   
She believes that each learner is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which to learn. It is her desire as an instructor, designer, and mentor, to help learners meet their fullest potential by creating an environment that is safe, supports risk-taking, and invites a sharing of ideas.
