Currently the director for graduate programs in career and technical education, I am a former K-12 and community college educator with an additional private industry background in agriculture and engineering research and development. Leveraging a knowledge and application of research and analysis techniques and applications of technology, I enable students to engage in smarter work and create stronger research products. I strive to develop productive relationships with stakeholders across diverse backgrounds, and I am dedicated to relevant, high-quality educational experiences that enable growth in learners of all educational abilities.
My research interests focus on the geographic distribution of education and its impact on access and equity, especially for rural populations. I also seek to employ emerging methodologies across educational and interdisciplinary research to advance the knowledge and applicability of new research opportunities. I am working to expand the discussion of DEI into less readily recognized sources of diversity.
