Stout allowed me to earn a quality education, to grow as a strong leader that will be dedicated to the Graphic Communications industry and the communities I shall call home.
Komro will be completing her undergraduate degree in the Graphic Communications program at the University of Wisconsin-Stout this Fall. Throughout her time at Stout, she has worked for University Dining in the Price Commons.
This summer Danielle has a second opportunity to work with Japs-Olson, a commercial and direct mail printing company located in St. Louis Park, MN. Her first position there was for her Co-op where Danielle worked closely with all employees in the pressroom. Her duties were to control ISO documents, assist in industry color certifications, and take the lead in other projects assigned by the manager.
Because of her hard work and dedication during the time of her Co-op, in Spring 2018 Danielle was one of thirteen students to receive the Outstanding Co-op Student of the Year Award. This award was given to students who made significant contributions to their employer while showing high levels of personal motivation and talent within their professional field.
Additionally, Danielle is pleased to share that she has accepted a full-time position to continue at Japs-Olson after she graduates in December 2018.
During her time at Stout, Danielle has been a member of Stout Typographical Society, a student-run organization designed to run like a small print shop. In this club, she learned more about other printing methods rarely touched in her classes. Every spring, the club goes on an industry trip to tour companies in the neighboring metropolitan cities. These trips helped her network with industry professionals and get a chance to see different types of printing methods used throughout the industry.
