University of Wisconsin Stout's Cooperative Education and Internship Program (CEIP) is our flagship experiential learning experience supporting UW-Stout’s career focused mission and polytechnic designation by providing students the opportunity to experience an active and applied focus on learning within their professional field. Our award-winning program is centrally coordinated by Career Services ensuring structure, support and collaborative partnerships between employers, students, and university faculty/staff.

    Career Readiness is Key
    Enroll in our program to complete a work experience that will allow you to develop essential career readiness skills ultimately increasing your employability upon graduation. Employer partners participate in our program to recruit career ready students, build their talent pipeline and provide feedback, ultimately influencing the education of students entering their professional field.

    Our program framework/requirements

    UW-Stout’s Cooperative Education and Internship Program offers two tracks. Co-op experiences required a minimum of •	8 weeks of work experience in fall, spring and/or summer term •	Students do major related work within the guidelines of their academic program •	Courses are one credit per term. •	Student work in positions located on-campus, off campus, in-state, out of state, and internationally. •	Paid Employment (W-2 employee) •	32 hours per week/320+ hours per term •	Full-time student status awarded   Field Experiences require a minimum of •	8 weeks of work experience in fall, spring and/or summer term •	Students do major related work within the guidelines of their academic program •	Courses are one credit per term. •	Student work in positions located on-campus, off campus, in-state, out of state, and internationally. •	Paid or unpaid experiences •	Weekly hours vary/80+ hours per term •	Student status determined by enrolled credits
