Small acts…Big Impacts

Every day is an opportunity to have an impact on the world around you.  At UW-Stout, we offer a variety of ways for you to lend your time, talent and voice to causes that you’re passionate about.

Whether you choose to volunteer, join a service-based student org or get involved with legislation that affects students, you can be certain that you’ll contribute to something that matters while you’re here.

"Through service and philanthropy I’ve given back to the community in more ways than I could have imagined."

-Linda Nguyen

You may be wondering what kind of acts are considered civic engagement.  Well, more than you probably think!  Volunteering with your church, fundraising for your local Relay for Life, participating in a yard clean-up, and voting are all civic engagement.  Put simply, it’s making a difference.

What is civic engagement? Political involvement, social responsibility, community research, association involvement, direct service, philanthropic giving, advocacy and education
