COVID-19 Update

The CACHSS Dean's Office, 171 Harvey Hall, is currently closed to visitors. Dean's Office staff continue to be available and are working remotely during regular business hours, M-F 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., CST. The CACHSS Dean's Office is expected to open to visitors during standard business hours, M-F 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., CST, Monday, August 3, 2020.

Welcome to the College of Arts, Communication, Humanities and Social Sciences (CACHSS)

We are committed to providing innovative, high-quality instruction that empowers students to become lifelong learners and responsible citizens who value scholarship, diversity, and the pursuit of truth. Our coursework introduces students to a broad-based understanding of the human experience, as conveyed through the arts, communication, technology, social sciences, literature, philosophy, history, music and theatre. Instruction provided by our faculty and staff enhances the skills of communication, problem-solving, critical thinking, and the effective use of technology.

Our Values

We foster a community of dedicated teachers, who challenge students, employ best practices,
test and contest technological innovations, and respond to the ever-changing needs of our learners.

Our research will involve students intentionally; address real-world problems; connect with industry, civic, and other partners; and be recognized for its innovation.

We assert the importance of service in its many forms – including to our institution, our professions, and our communities – and recognize its essential role in cultivating the engagement necessary to improve our world.
